Unambiguous signals for graphene in COVID-19 shots

How can a microscopic, inorganic substance be identified? Before, they are ground up and examined by chemical analysis.

Now, they use a technique called RAMAN infrared spectroscopy. It has been around since 1928 and is named after Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman, who won a Nobel Prize in PHysics in 1930 for his discovery.

RAMAN spectroscopy focuses a laser on an object to excite the material causing molecules to vibrate. The vibrations have a mode and measurable frequency that depends on what atoms are present and how many chemical bonds they have.

For example, two carbons connected by a single bond have a vibrational mode of C-C 800 (600-1300) cm-1. Carbon, oxygen, and another carbon joined is C-O-C 800-970 cm-1 Raman average. 

These vibrational modes are read by the spectroscope and compared to a known reference to identify the substance.

Raman spectroscopy is what Dr. Pablo Campra used to detect graphene in the COVID-19 vaccines. He has a Ph.D. in the chemical sciences, is a teacher, and is a researcher at Universidad de Almería in Spain. His ResearchGate page lists 911 citations and 45 studies beginning in 1999.

His detection of graphene in the vaccines is reported at DETECTION OF GRAPHENE IN COVID-19 VACCINES. This is what he reports,

In conclusion, out of a total of 110 scanned objects, unambiguous signals for the presence of graphene oxide have been found in 8 objects, and signals compatible with the presence of graphitic or graphene structures in another 20 objects.

Seven samples were examined.

  7. JANSSEN (JAN). Batch number Not available. Not sealed

Note: I cross-checked the lot numbers with Lot Numbers of Pfizer and Moderna mRNA Vaccines with the Highest Deaths and did not find any matches. That could be because the shots are released in Spain.

Care was observed to prevent contamination. During the extraction of the samples and their transfer to slides for Raman microscopy, they worked under aseptic conditions under a laminar flow chamber. Among the seven vials, they scanned 110 objects.

Below is the RAMAN spectrum of the reduced GRAPHENE OXIDE reference pattern. 

For the reduced Graphene Oxide STANDARD, the equipment shows the presence of 3 characteristic peaks:
G-band at 1584 cm-1
D-Band at 1344 cm-1
2D-band at 2691 cm-1

Eight objects are compatible with graphene.

There are other 28 objects with signals compatible with graphite or graphene derivatives that I did not include here. There are 23 from Pfizer, two from AstraZeneca, and three from the Janssen vaccines.

There are other objects that he cannot assign or rule out the presence of graphene because of “the excess noise from excessive fluorescent activity.” probably from the dried hydrogel. Dr. Campras ends his report by inviting other scientists to continue or collaborate with him “to confirm, refute, qualify or generalize the conclusions of this report.”

These shots keep getting interesting. What’s next? Nanosensors?
