The virus causing the Covid-19 disease is so tiny that you can’t see it.
More than that, you can’t smell, feel, and hear it. But that tiny thing has infected more than 160 thousand and killed almost 6,000 worldwide.
The Covid-19 virus was able to do that damage because it is very contagious. The virus can multiply rapidly on the nose and throat. Even mild coughing and sneezing can transmit it to others and the surroundings.
One infected person can transmit infect 1 in 3 people they are in close contact with. The more people get sick, the more congested a hospital can become and delay care for everyone.
The Covid-19 virus can affect everybody in the whole community, including the ones without the virus.
How do you avoid the virus if you can’t see it?
You fight it like the virus is already everywhere and on everybody.
Now is an excellent time to be paranoid,
Stay away from everyone by at least 6 feet. That is the range of a droplet spread. The most common route of spread.
Staying away also means you won’t get it from a carrier.
If you have a cough, sore throat, sneezing, or body aches. It may just be allergies or mild flu. But it may also be a soft case of Covid-19, too, and you can infect someone. Wear a mask and practice social distance. Ask your doctor if you need to be tested.
80% of mild cases get better on their own.
If you have to be near a vulnerable person like the elderly or those with medical diseases, think like you have the virus or that they have it. They are vulnerable because if they get infected, they have a higher chance of dying. Wear a mask and gloves, when around them. Handwash frequently, and use hand disinfectants.
Stay away from crowded places. Moviehouses, theaters, gyms, or sports arenas.
Prevention is cheap and doable by all. Little things like hand-washing and social distancing can beat this pandemic.
Assume that the virus is everywhere.
