This article features a large study showing no increased incidence of myocarditis in those with COVID-19.
One of the arguments for getting COVID-19 shots despite the associated myocarditis is that it prevents myocarditis, which is the sequelae of the COVID-19 disease.
A large study from Israel published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine shows no increased incidence of myocarditis after COVID-19.
The study involved 196,992 adults who had COVID-19 infection, and a control cohort of 590,976 adults with at least one negative PCR and no positive PCR were age- and sex-matched.
People who had COVID-19 shots were excluded from the study.
Myocarditis in COVID-19 group
Nine post-COVID-19 patients developed myocarditis (0.0046%), and eleven patients were diagnosed with pericarditis (0.0056%).
Myocarditis in the non-COVID-19 group
In the control cohort, 27 patients had myocarditis (0.0046%), and 52 had pericarditis (0.0088%).
Statistical analysis
Hazard ratios compare the likelihood of someone getting sick or better compared to the control group. A hazard ratio of 1 or less in this study means the chance of getting myocarditis after COVID-19 is the same as those in the control group who did not get COVID-19.
Study Conclusion
Post COVID-19 infection was not associated with either myocarditis (aHR 1.08; 95% CI 0.45 to 2.56) or pericarditis (aHR 0.53; 95% CI 0.25 to 1.13).
We did not observe an increased incidence of either pericarditis or myocarditis in adult patients recovering from COVID-19 infection.
Our data suggest no increase in the incidence of myocarditis and pericarditis in COVID-19-recovered patients compared to uninfected matched controls.
What is the incidence of myocarditis after COVID-19 “vaccination”?
Thai study shows a whopping 1,660 myocarditis cases per 100K COVID injections.
