Startling Outbreak: 26 CJD Cases Linked To COVID-19 Jab

This article discusses the study that discusses twenty-six cases of CJD declared a few days after a COVID-19 jab in 2021. (Pfizer, Moderna, or AstraZeneca). At the end of the article, you will discover why it could be more.

One of the authors was the late Luc Montagnier, a Nobel Prize laureate recognized for his groundbreaking work on the AIDS virus.

The International Journal of Vaccine Theory Practice and Research published the research in January 2023.

Introduction

Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) is a rare, rapidly worsening brain disorder that causes unique changes in brain tissue and affects muscle coordination, thinking, and memory.

People with CJD can go from mild forgetfulness or confusion to severe disability and coma in just a few months. CJD happens when specific proteins in the brain misfold and build up, leading to brain damage.

CJD usually appears in later life, typically around age 60, and quickly gets worse. It is extremely rare, and there is no treatment. Seventy percent die within a year of the first symptoms. There are about 350 cases per year in the U.S.

Key Points from the Paper

Presence of a “Prion Region”

    • The authors highlight that the original SARS-CoV-2 spike protein (and its early variants) contains a section they call a “prion region.” Tetz and Tetz have confirmed this finding.[2]
    • They state that this region is also present in all “vaccines” built on the Wuhan spike sequence, referring to mRNA (Pfizer, Moderna) and viral-vector COVID-19 vaccines (J&J, AstraZeneca).

Rapid Development of CJD Post-Vaccination

    • The paper reports on 26 cases of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease that reportedly appeared within one day to 30 days after the affected person received the vaccine. Twenty-three cases are from France, and the rest are from the UK and the US. [1]
    • On average, the first symptoms of CJD emerged about 11.38 days post-injection.
    • Out of these 26 cases:
      • 20 individuals died (within a mean of 4.76 months after vaccination).
      • 8 of these 20 deaths were labeled as “sudden,” occurring around 2.5 months post-vaccination.
      • 6 individuals were still alive at the time the paper was written.

Comparison to Typical CJD

    • Classical CJD usually has an incubation of around 10 years or more and a symptomatic phase usually lasting from 6 months to 3 years before death.
    • By contrast, this study describes a “radically different nature” of what they call a “new form” of CJD, allegedly triggered and progressing very quickly following COVID-19 vaccination.

Hypothesized Mechanism of CJD Development

    • The paper posits that the spike protein’s prion region might, under certain conditions, contribute to protein misfolding and prion-like activity in the brain.

Limitations of the Study

    • Since July 2021, major research institutions have been unable to perform autopsies due to safety concerns. As a result, the actual number of prion disease cases likely exceeds any officially reported figures.

CJD After COVID-19

Searching the internet, five cases were reported to have CJD after COVID-19. [5][6][7][8]8[9].

Many authors theorize that the severe brain inflammation typically seen in COVID-19 could have accelerated CJD. This is possible because the blood-brain barrier could be disrupted during COVID-19 [12], making the brain prone to severe inflammation.

In the article I published yesterday, Shocking Truth: Is COVID-19’s Spike Protein Haunting Your Brain? It showed that spike proteins can persist in the skull and the brain, and their delicate covering months after an infection.

Spike proteins are foreign bodies, and thus, the immune system tries to get rid of them, causing inflammation and brain damage.

Montagnier and colleagues are not alone. Authors like Baazaoui and Iqbal,  Seneff et al., and Lukiw et al. have theorized that COVID-19 can lead to neurodegenerative and prion diseases.

Other CJD cases after COVID-19 jabs

Kuvandic et al. from Turkey reported a case of CJD in a year-old female after an injection of CoronaVac from Sinovac Life Sciences, Beijing, China.[10]

Another report from Turkey by Karabudak et al. was on a 68-year-old male who developed neurologic symptoms three to four months after injection of an mRNA COVID-19 shot.[11]

VAERS DATA

It is essential to remember Harvard Pilgrim Health Care’s Lazarus report that in 2010,

Adverse events from drugs and vaccines are common, but underreported.

Although 25% of ambulatory patients experience an adverse drug event, less than 0.3% of all adverse drug events and 1-13% of serious events are reported to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Likewise, fewer than 1% of vaccine adverse events are reported.

So, any number you see below, multiply by 100 at least.

In their article, the authors searched the VAERS and found.

…according to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), between December 14, 2020 and April 1, 2022, 20 cases of Creutzfeldt-Jacob Disease attributed to COVID vaccines were reported and 19 deaths were recorded.[1]

I looked up VAERS on Jan 7, 2025, and 12 CJDs were reported for all COVID-19 vaccines. Given the benefit of the doubt, it is possible because all cases reported to VAERS are evaluated to ensure accurate diagnoses.

However, CJD is not taken lightly; typically, the medical personnel who report it have some lab data to support the diagnosis.

What about the rest of the world? Here is the surprising part.

No Updated CJD Data Since the Jabs Began

The COVID-19 jabs were started in 2021. If SARS-CoV-2 and its jabs are related to CJD, we should see an increase in CJD cases from 2021 to the present. So, I checked all searchable sites.

First, as of 2025, agencies that are supposed to monitor CJD cases in Europe, like the Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease International Surveillance Network, have not updated their data.

The table below is a screenshot of a long table that lists the countries and all definitive and probable cases in Europe. (Sorry, the whole table won’t fit)

The right-most column that is not included is the European countries.  Note that there is no data about new CJD cases since 2021.

Check out the entire table at this link:  https://www.eurocjd.ed.ac.uk/data_tables

Second is a study titled, Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Surveillance and Patient Care in the United Kingdom, published in 2022; their results do not include 2021.

Third, another study by Gao et al. published in June 2024, Updated Global Epidemiology Atlas of Human Prion Diseases. Again, the data was only to 2020.

Fourth, the journal Prion published A Systemic Analysis of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease cases in Asia in December 2024, but again, there is no mention of cases from 2021 until now.

Hmmm.

If you know someone who was diagnosed with CJD, report it to VAERS.
